#GRGStory
Welcome to October! Fall is in full swing. The days are quickly getting shorter and cooler, and soon enough the holidays will be on our minds. While it is easy to start thinking about next year already, there is a lot of time left in this year. How can we make the most of it?
a successful year doesn’t have to start in January and end in December.
Start by evaluating your goals and what success looked like at the beginning of the year. Did you make a list or set goals in January? How did that work out so far? If the answer is “not good,” “unproductive,” or that you feel like you have failed in your goals. Don’t worry. It’s never too late to set some goals and create a path for a successful and productive year. Success is not defined by a calendar year. It is easy to look at the calendar as a way to hold yourself accountable and to set a timetable for what you would like to accomplish. However, a successful year doesn’t have to start in January and end in December.
the fall is a great time to refocus where you invest your time.
Reprioritize tasks: do you have a list of tasks that have never been marked off your to-do list? How important are they? By setting new priorities for the remainder of the year; you can get rid of those items you may never get to, or that aren’t as important. Maybe you can delegate items that someone else might handle better, and attend to those important items that you haven’t made time for.
Engage: interact with the people around you, in your community and with people you see as successful. Be mindful and purposeful. It is not about selling or personal promotion, rather to be active in the community around you. This is important year-round, but the fall is a great time to refocus where you invest your time.
Make the most of the last few months of the year and finish strong. If the year has been productive and you have hit your goals; continue to follow what has made you successful. On the other hand, if you wish the year had gone differently: make changes; refocus; set new goals and start your plan for success today and for the years ahead.
